Is #aynrand on undernet suspending their entrance exam for this event?

Also, #aynrand is not the only realtime Objectivist chat room on the internet. #geekspeak (populated by many members of the original #aynrand) has had the longest continuous existence of any Objectivist chat channel.

Sara,

I was concerned too. I contacted ARI and they assured me that everyone would be welcome and nobody would be kicked or banned.

I am a business student trying to gain some knowledge... In the objectivist's view, should corporations have a role in supporting services such as education, transportation and healthcare? Is there any rational self-interest in doing so? If their promotion of social services improves the societies in which they operate their business, does that improve their own long-term sustainability? As an example, a company operating in Thailand voluntarily trains officials on Avian flu -- no promise of any near-term reward, but what if it improves the market in which they do business? Happy to hear views - I am fond of they philosophy, but no expert! What about other government services? Can private enterprise replace governments role of providing those? Would they, if government were truely relegated to a pure security role? Would society be better off - would increase in economic wealth benefit society as a whole without government taxation? I need an experts view...
